I remember the moment I chose to leave my OB/GYN and link arms with the ladies of Lone Star OB?GYN Nurse Midwives.  I was excited and a bit scared.  I was nervous if I could tolerate the pain.  Although I opted not to use pain medication, the option is still there....yes, even when you use a midwife!  Outside of the pain, it was equally important to me to have a medical team who bedside manners were to my standard.  After my first consultation with one of the midwives, I knew I had made the right choice.  The staff at Lone Star midwives were not only concerned about by pregnancy, but about me.  As a first time mom I had a lot of random questions, and they were always answered.  The midwives knew me by name and remembered the topics we had discussed at previous visits.

In my third trimester I experienced some complications, and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to stick to my original birthing plan; however when it came time to have my daughter we stayed very close to my original birthing plan.  Even with Pitocin my midwife and doula staff were very patient - I labored on the floor, on a ball and even in the shower.  I was always in control, and I was given many options.  I am so thankful that I chose Lone Star Nurse Midwives.  I got to achieve a personalized birthing experience that I will never forget.

My birth was an amazing experience, Erin helped me so much. All the midwives were all very supportive to us through are pregnacy, we gave birth to a health baby boy on the 7th of january, weighing in at 7.12 lbs. And 21.5 inches long, also he was a vbac, which was unmedicated, which made it even more special, since i had used epiduales with my other pregnacies. But just to be able to have the chance to deliver via- vbac, and be able to do as i pleased and have a respected birth plan i loved my experience, and i recommend them very much to all women. Thank you ladies for all your hard work, for helping to make a difference a birth at a time. ♡♡♡♡

I sought out Lone Star Nurse Midwives hoping to find a women's health provider that could offer superior care to that which I had received by my previous OB/GYN. My only regret is not finding them sooner! My first pregnancy and birth was not what I had hoped for it to be, and although a second child is far off, I know I have found the place to assist me on that journey. Lauren is a gift from above. Within the first minute of meeting her, I felt like we had known each other for years. She is easily the best medical professional I have ever encountered. Her passion, knowledge and great bedside manner made my appointment enjoyable. Imagine saying that an annual exam was actually enjoyable?! I can't speak highly enough about my experience at Lone Star Nurse Midwives. Virtually no wait, compassionate staff and FAR better patient care than any OB/GYN office I've been too.

We just had our first baby girl on Friday!! We had the pleasure of Megan assisting our birth. That woman is incredible, not only is she present with her words, she has an unspoken presence that is very comforting and encouraging! She talked to us at the beginning of our labor about any ridiculous thing we could ask all the way until our princess was born! She constantly reassured us she would not be to far and when it was time to push she did nothing but cheer me on! Megan is a rock star midwife and she is definitely doing what she was born to do!!

The perfect balance

I absolutely love the midwives! Having worked with them professionally and being a patient of theirs for 3 years I have developed a wonderful relationship with Amy, Erin, Kim, Lauren, and Lexi. As an L&D nurse I have the privilege of being a part of the patience and care provided to each of their patients during their birth experience while in the hospital, and I have experienced this patience and genuineness myself with the delivery of my first baby in 2015. As the desire for midwifery deliveries rises, the Lonestar Midwives provide a perfect balance between the nurturing birthing experience within the hospital setting.
